Note: The information in this article applies to both Apollo Twin and Apollo Twin MkII.

The steps below will guide you through the process of installing the UAD software, registering your Apollo Twin, and authorizing your UAD plug-ins.

Important Note: A Windows 10 PC with Thunderbolt 3 built-in via USB-C and a qualified Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt adapter are required to use Apollo Twin with Windows 10. For details, see the Apollo Twin Thunderbolt Windows Compatibility article.

    1. Connect and power Apollo Twin

Before installing the UAD software, connect your Apollo Twin to a Thunderbolt 3 enabled USB-C port on your PC via a Thunderbolt cable and qualified Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt adapter, then power on the Apollo Twin.

A "New Thunderbolt devices have been attached" message will appear when connecting your Apollo Twin to the computer for the first time. For details, see this article.

    2. Download the UAD software

Registration and authorization is managed by the UAD software. Download the latest UAD software installer here: www.uaudio.com/download

    3. Install the UAD software

Open the UAD software installer after the download is complete. The installer will guide you through the process. Be sure to restart the computer when prompted.

Note: If the "Firmware Update" prompt appears, click Load and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.
