When installing UAD software on a Windows 7 computer that is not connected to the internet, it is critical that the system has been updated to the latest security certificates prior to starting the installation process. If the system has outdated security certificates the installation process may fail, typically with an error message similar to the one below:
"A certificate chain could not be built to a trusted root authority."
If you encounter an installation error similar to this on your offline Windows 7 system, please connect the computer to the internet and run the UAD software installer again. Once installation is complete the computer can be disconnected from the internet.
Please note that both Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 include the required certificates and are not affected by this issue.
