Apple’s Mac computers featuring the new M4 family of chips are currently affected by a known compatibility issue with iLok-enabled software.
In some cases, when UAD native plug-ins are loaded in a DAW, they may present a message that says DAW Restart Required. LUNA sessions may present a Plug-ins failed to load dialog when launching LUNA extensions.
This issue does not affect any Mac equipped with an earlier Apple silicon (M1, M2, M3) chip.
We are currently working closely with PACE support to deploy a solution for this issue as soon as possible, but we do not have a specific timeline for resolution at this time. Updates will be posted here as they become available.
Workaround
If you encounter this issue, save your session and restart your DAW or LUNA. If the issue persists after restarting your DAW, you can follow these simple steps to configure your DAW or LUNA to run in Rosetta mode until full compatibility is announced.
To enable your DAW to open in Rosetta mode, follow the following steps:
- Quit the DAW application.
- Open Finder and navigate to the Applications folder.
- Right-click on the DAW application and select Get Info.
- Check the box next to Open using Rosetta in the info window; this will cause the application to run using Rosetta translation the next time you launch it.
