Using Native UAD (UADx) Plug-In Licenses Offline with iLok USB

By default, UA Connect relies on PACE’s iLok cloud-based copy protection, giving you direct access to UA software updates and plug-in authorizations after any purchase. However, this method requires a reliable internet connection. If you don’t always have reliable internet or if you’re traveling, PACE iLok USB is the solution, because it does not require an internet connection.

This method applies to native UAD plug-ins that you own and/or have access to as part of a Spark subscription.

Note: The free LA-2A Tube Compressor license cannot be transferred from one location to another using the method explained in this article. If you need to authorize it to an iLok USB, please follow the steps in this article instead.

If you wish to move your license(s) onto an iLok USB key, please follow the instructions below:

  1. Launch iLok License Manager and sign in using your iLok account credentials.

Note: iLok License Manager was automatically installed when UA Connect was installed. If for some reason it is not installed, you can download it directly from ilok.com

Important Note: If PACE services are suffering from an outage, make sure to turn off your Wi-Fi in order to use your licenses authorized to an iLok USB.
