To solve these issues, follow the steps below:

  1. Ensure Apollo x16D is properly connected to a Thunderbolt 3 port using a Thunderbolt 3 cable, as well as to your host computer via Ethernet.
  2. Quit the UAD Control Panel & Meter application, then relaunch it. If you are still getting one of the error messages listed above, proceed with the steps below.
  3. Launch Dante Controller and unlock the affected device.
  4. Turn your Wi-Fi off.
On macOS, this can be done by clicking the Wi-Fi icon on the top-right side of the menu bar, then switching the button to the off position.

On Windows, click the Wi-Fi icon at the bottom right of the taskbar and select Turn Off Wi-Fi.
  5. Use a compatible dongle. For a list of compatible dongles and other accessories, read this article.

Then, proceed to the steps below to adjust the order of network services so that Wi-Fi is the second in the order as opposed to being first:

macOS

  1. Open the System Preferences.
  2. Click the Network tab.
  3. Click the menu at the bottom of the panel.
  4. Select Set Service Order to change the order.

Additional Notes

When the UAD Meter & Control Panel application cannot detect your Wi-Fi or Apollo x16D, it will prompt you with this notification:

The dropdown menu will show the two network devices available on your computer by showing IP addresses next to the entries, as shown below:

In this example, the Wi-Fi shows as en2 → 192.168.1.240 and the USB-C to Ethernet accessory used for the Dante Network shows as en15 → 169.254.217.149.

The UAD Meter & Control Panel application is designed to automatically select the correct network address, but you can manually select it if necessary.
