As with all firmware updates, it’s important to ensure they are not interrupted. However, in the case where a Dante Firmware update is interrupted, Apollo x16D might enter Dante Failsafe mode, which will be displayed in Dante Controller if this occurs.
Disconnecting Thunderbolt, power, or Ethernet during a firmware update can cause such a firmware update failure.
This status displays as follows in Dante Controller, as x16D features a Brooklyn 3 Dante chipset.
To restore the device to a working state, follow these instructions from the Audinate website.
Once the recovery process is complete, follow these steps:
- Power cycle your Apollo x16D.
- Connect to host running the latest UAD-2 software version available. If you need to update the UAD-2 Software, this can be done in UA Connect.
- Follow the firmware update prompts from the UAD Meter & Control Panel application.
After the firmware update is complete, verify the x16D is detected in Dante Controller when connected to your computer with an Ethernet cable.
