FAQ: UA 610 Tube Preamp & EQ Collection Giveaway

For a limited time, Universal Audio is giving away the UA 610 Tube Preamp & EQ Collection, including both UAD Native and Apollo DSP versions, for free!

First introduced in 1960 by Bill Putnam Sr., the tube-amplified 610 modular console was among the first mixing desks purpose-built for audio recording. The channel strips at the heart of the 610 defined the sound of modern recording with their rich tube harmonics and saturation.

Free for a limited time, the UA 610 Tube Preamp & EQ Collection delivers the same warmth and vintage sound that shaped generations of classic records, perfect for making vocals and instruments stand out in any modern mix.

I already own the 610-A or 610-B UAD plug-in. What does this mean for me?

Current owners of any 610 UAD plug-in can upgrade to the newest collection for free.

Is Universal Audio hardware required to use these plug-ins?

The 610 collection includes both the UAD Native and Apollo DSP versions. The UAD Native versions run natively on your computer with no UA hardware required. The Apollo DSP versions require an Apollo audio interface or UAD-2 hardware to use.

What are the system requirements for this plug-in collection?

  • macOS 11 Big Sur or higher.
  • Windows 10 or Windows 11 (64-bit editions).
  • An Intel, AMD, or Apple silicon processor.
  • An internet connection to download software and authorize UAD Native plug-ins (UADx) plug-ins.
  • A free iLok account, using iLok machine authorization or iLok USB (2nd generation or higher).
  • The free UA Connect application for managing UAD Native plug-ins (UADx) plug-ins.

Do I need internet access to authorize this plug-in collection?

Yes, your computer will need to be online to authorize the plug-in. Customer Care cannot manually authorize the plug-in for you.

Once you’ve downloaded and authorized the plug-in to your computer, an internet connection is no longer required unless an update to the plug-in is available.

How many times can I authorize the native version of this plug-in collection?

The plug-in can be activated on a maximum of three (3) locations, which can be iLok machine authorizations or iLok USB authorizations.

I just bought a new computer and ran out of activations for the native version. What can I do?

You can deactivate a license from a previously authorized machine in the iLok License Manager. Instructions to do so can be found here.
