Troubleshooting "Driver Not Installed Correctly" & "Driver Version Mismatch"

Troubleshooting "Driver Not Installed Correctly" Issues

If you see red "Driver Not Installed Correctly" text in the UAD Meter, this likely means that there was a problem with the installation of one or more UAD device drivers. However, if you're using macOS 10.13 High Sierra you may just need to "Allow" the driver in the OS preferences. See the directions for your operating system below.

"Driver Not Installed Correctly" Issues on macOS 10.13 High Sierra

To improve High Sierra security when installing system software (such as UAD drivers), Apple requires that new software must be explicitly allowed to load in the Security & Privacy pane within macOS System Preferences. If new UAD software is installed and the UAD drivers are not allowed, the UAD Meter will display "Driver Not Installed Correctly."

To allow the UAD drivers after installation, see the directions in this article.

"Driver Not Installed Correctly" Issues on All Other Operating Systems

On operating systems other than High Sierra, "Driver Not Installed Correctly" typically means that there was a problem with the installation of one or more UAD device drivers. This can usually be resolved by doing a complete uninstall / reinstall of the UAD software, including manually deleting the UAD preference files (as well as the UAD device drivers on Windows). See the directions for your operating system below:

Mac Uninstall / Reinstall

Windows Uninstall / Reinstall

Troubleshooting "Driver Version Mismatch" Issues

If the UAD Meter displays "Driver Version Mismatch" text, this means that there are two different UAD driver versions installed on your system that are conflicting with each other.
