About This Firmware

  • Important: The OX software control app and OX’s firmware both need updates to use OX v1.2.
  • Learn how to install OX firmware v1.2 below.

How To Install OX Firmware v1.2

The firmware update method depends on which version of OX firmware is currently installed:

  • If OX firmware v1.1 is installed: Get OX software v1.2 to update OX’s firmware over Wi-Fi.
  • If OX firmware v1.0 is installed: Update manually using a specially formatted USB drive.

Instructions for both methods are below. To determine which version of OX firmware is currently installed:

  1. Open the OX software app and pair it to your OX.
  2. Press SETTINGS at the top of the app and the OX FIRMWARE VERSION is displayed.

Update from OX firmware v1.0

To install OX firmware v1.2, you need:

  1. USB flash drive (1 GB or larger capacity)
  2. Mac or Windows computer

First, you’ll create a firmware updater on the USB drive on a Mac* or Windows computer. Then, you’ll plug the USB drive into OX to update its firmware. Follow the instructions for these steps below.

Note: After OX firmware v1.2 is installed, OX firmware updates can be installed automatically
over Wi-Fi using the OX software app.

*Tip: Mac users can get the OX Firmware 1.1 Update Creator application, then update to
firmware v1.2 over Wi-Fi. See How To Install OX Firmware v1.1 below.

    Download OX-v1.2.0-Firmware.img.gz

  2. Download, install, and launch balenaEtcher, a free flash drive image utility.
