What is Topline Vocal Tune?

Topline Vocal Tune is a new plug-in from Universal Audio designed to automatically correct vocal pitch. It can be used to achieve a subtle, transparent pitch correction or a more dramatic "hard-tuned" effect – a signature sound in modern pop, hip-hop, and R&B music.

Topline Vocal Tune's key features are:

  • Intuitive and Familiar Controls: Topline Vocal Tune provides easy-to-use controls for dialing in the perfect sound quickly and efficiently.
  • Seamless Integration: The plug-in includes Topline Key Finder, eliminating guesswork and speeding up the creative process by automatically detecting the key and scale of a track.

From pop and hip-hop to R&B and beyond, Topline Vocal Tune delivers the quintessential pitch-perfect sound found on countless charting hits, making it essential for all modern genres.

How can I get Topline Vocal Tune?

Topline Vocal Tune can be purchased as a perpetual license directly from the Universal Audio website or through UA authorized dealers, or acquired via a UAD Spark subscription

Note: UAD Spark subscriptions only include the UAD Native version of the plug-in, not the UAD DSP version.

I own a license for the UAD Native version of Topline Vocal Tune; how can I get the UAD DSP version?

If you already have a UAD Native license for Topline Vocal Tune, you can start using the UAD DSP version at no additional cost by simply re-authorizing your UAD DSP plug-ins in UAD Meter and Control Panel.

To authorize UAD DSP plug-ins, follow these instructions:

  1. Open the UAD Meter & Control Panel app
  2. Click the blue UAD-2 button
  3. Click Authorize Plug-Ins

If you do not currently have a UAD DSP device, like an Apollo or Satellite, your UAD DSP license will be waiting in your account if you decide to upgrade later on.

How is this different from other vocal tuning plug-ins and Topline Vocal Suite?

Topline Vocal Tune delivers the same classic, recognizable sound that has been a staple of pop, hip hop and R&B for decades. You can dial in the same subtle or aggressive effects you've heard on countless hit records. Below is a table that compares both plug-ins and their features:

Topline Vocal Tune is a more focused solution with extended controls for those who only want to integrate detailed pitch correction into their production.

Is this difficult to use if I’m new to pitch correction?

No, Topline Vocal Tune is designed for ease of use. It features a simple, intuitive interface with controls that are familiar to anyone who has used similar products. It also works seamlessly with Topline Key Finder, which can automatically detect the key of your song to help you get started even faster.

Can I use this plug-in for live performances?

Yes! Thanks to its low-latency performance, Topline Vocal Tune is well-suited for live use. With Topline Vocal Tune’s Low-latency mode, a vocalist can achieve the ultra-low latency and real-time response needed to perform live on stage with confidence.
