Connecting Your Volt To Your Computer
Volt interfaces use a USB type C cable, and require USB 2.0 or better. If you are having troubles with the connection, for troubleshooting purposes connecting the Volt directly to the computer is advised. A USB type A to C cable can also be used.
Note that macOS does not require a driver, but it is required to install the Volt ASIO Driver on Windows. You can download the ASIO driver in UA Connect.
Connecting Your Headphones To Your Volt
Volt Max interfaces feature two headphone outputs, but one shared signal. You can use either the ⅛” or ¼” headphone output.
Press the speaker / headphone button on the hardware and observe the icon change on the smart display. When headphones are selected, you can adjust the headphone volume. Headphones with a lower impedance will be louder, and Volt is designed to work with a large range of headphone impedances.
Enabling Volt as Your Playback Device
On macOS, open System Settings Sound. Select Volt as both your output and your input.
On Windows, click the Start Menu and search for ‘Sound Settings’
Select MON L/R outputs on your Volt Interface.
Alternatively, you can select the interface output from the task bar.
Connecting Instruments & Microphones To Your Volt
When connecting an instrument to your Volt, you should use an instrument input on the front. For units with more than one instrument input, you may need to press the input button, and observe the smart display to check which channel you have selected.
If you are using a condenser microphone, you will need to apply +48V (Phantom Power). When you press the button, it will flash while it is powering up or down.
A dynamic microphone or instrument does not require +48v.
Once your channel is selected and displayed on the Smart Display, you can apply gain using the volume knob.
