I already own the UAD DSP version. How can I get the UAD Native license?
If you had a license for the UAD DSP version of FATSO before the native version launched on October 13th, 2026, you can claim the UAD Native version for only $2.99 by following the steps below:
- If you are entitled to this offer, navigate to the Empirical Labs FATSO Tape Simulator product page and select the Upgrade option to add to your cart.
- On the checkout page, the $2.99 price should be reflected to indicate you are purchasing the UAD Native license upgrade.
- Click the Checkout button at the bottom of the page to go through with the purchase and enter the requested payment information.
- When the purchase is completed, download your plug-in(s) via UA Connect.
The Upgrade option on the product page is greyed out. Why is that?
First, make sure you are logged into your account. If the Upgrade option on the product page is still “greyed out,” this is likely an indicator that you are ineligible for the upgrade.

Sonically, the UAD Native port for FATSO is identical to the UAD DSP version.
Why is there a fee to upgrade my UAD DSP licenses to UAD Native?
We want to make UAD Native plug-ins available to existing UAD DSP owners at the lowest possible cost; a small fee per plug-in is required to cover processing and licensing costs associated with issuing new native licenses.
