Error Message: Pace Activation Failure No Eligible Locations

This article addresses troubleshooting steps when you reach the pace activation failure no eligible locations error while attempting to activate UAD native plug-ins or LUNA extensions.

Activating Demo or Trial Licenses

If you see this error while attempting to activate a demo or trial license, it often indicates that a demo or trial has already been activated on this computer in the past. 

To confirm for certain if this is the issue, please follow these steps exactly:

  1. Open the iLok License Manager application.
  2. Sign in with the same iLok ID that is linked to your UA account. If you are not sure which iLok ID is linked to your UA account, you can find this information here after logging into your account.
  3. Click on your iLok ID in the top left, then click and drag the trial license to the local host (computer name) icon on the left.
    Note: If you are activating a 14-day demo trial of Spark or a 99¢ for 3-month promotional trial, click and drag the trial license to the iLok Cloud. Also, make sure you have an iLok Cloud Session open by going to the File > Open You Cloud Session.
  4. If you see one of the errors below, your computer has already had a demo or trial license activated in the past. If you’re attempting to trial UAD Spark again, you will have to cancel the current trial and sign up for a standard UAD Spark subscription here to continue using it.

If this is not the case and the error above does not appear when moving the license, you should contact the Customer Care team.

Activating Perpetual Licenses

If you see this error while attempting to activate a perpetual license, it often indicates a hang-up in the backend and you should contact the Customer Care team
