When transferring a used UAD-2 or Apollo device to another user, the seller has the option to include their purchased UAD DSP plug-ins with the transfer. In order to transfer both the hardware and plug-ins to the buyer, the seller must submit a transfer request and specify to include their additional plug-ins. If you're planning on purchasing a used UAD-2 or Apollo device that includes additional plug-ins, there are a couple of things to take into consideration to ensure that the transfer process goes smoothly.
Note: All Apollo devices include a free collection of legacy plug-ins which are automatically assigned to the new owner, even if the seller chooses not to transfer any additional plug-ins. Click here to see what legacy will come with your UAD-2 or Apollo device.

See below for answers to common questions regarding purchasing a used UAD-2 or Apollo device with additional UAD plug-ins.
If I purchase a used Apollo device, what UAD plug-ins come with it?
All used Apollo products come with an included collection of legacy plug-ins, free of charge. This collection of legacy plug-ins is a great way for new users to get started with UAD plug-ins right out of the box without the need for an additional purchase.
The seller also has the option to include their additional plug-ins with the transfer. If purchasing a used Apollo device that is supposed to include additional plug-ins, make sure to communicate with the seller to confirm that you both understand how this process works. I've just purchased a used Apollo device that includes additional plug-ins. How do I redeem them?
When a UAD-2 or Apollo device is sold as used, the seller must complete the “Transfer” form online. On the Transfer form, the seller will be asked if they want to include plug-ins.
In order to include their additional plug-ins with the transfer, the seller must select "Transfer Plug-Ins: Yes" on the Transfer form. All plug-ins contained in the System that the hardware is in will be transferred with the hardware. UAD plug-ins can only be moved between accounts via this transfer process.
Once the buyer registers the hardware, the plug-ins will be transferred into the buyer's account.
I purchased a used Apollo device, but the UAD plug-ins that were supposed to be included were not transferred to my UA account. How do I handle this?
As the buyer, you will need to contact the seller to work this out directly. If the seller accidentally submitted the transfer request without including plug-ins, the best way to correct this would be to transfer the Apollo hardware back to the seller's account via the transfer process and have the seller resubmit the transfer request, this time making sure to include plug-ins.
I purchased a used Apollo device, and some UAD plug-ins that show as authorized in the UAD Control Panel don't appear in my UA account. How can I get these plug-ins to show up in my UA account?
It depends on whether or not the transfer was supposed to include additional plug-ins.
If the Apollo device is showing in your UA account but some UAD plug-ins are showing up as authorized in the UAD Control Panel that aren't in your account, this means the seller did not include additional plug-ins with the transfer, and you are seeing the previous owner's authorizations still loaded on the device.
If the transfer was not supposed to include additional plug-ins, you'll just need to click the Authorize Plug-Ins button on the Plug-Ins tab of the UAD Control Panel to load the authorizations from your account onto the device and overwrite the previous owner's authorizations.
If the seller was supposed to include additional plug-ins but accidentally submitted the transfer request without including them, the best way to correct this would be to transfer the Apollo hardware back to the seller's account via the transfer process and have the seller resubmit the transfer request, this time making sure to include plug-ins.
The seller said they were going to transfer the Apollo device to my account with plug-ins, but have not done so and will no longer answer my emails. What do I do?
If the seller is unresponsive after multiple attempts, please contact support to see what your options are. If you purchased the used device via an online marketplace like eBay, Amazon, etc then we would also recommend filing a claim with the site you purchased the device from to alert them that the seller did not deliver the plug-in assets that you paid them for.
Note: UAD plug-ins cannot be manually transferred between accounts under any circumstances, and Universal Audio cannot get involved in third-party transactions or disputes between a seller and a buyer.
