This article contains basic information regarding purchasing UAD plug-ins from the UAD Store.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The UAD Store sells both UAD native plug-ins and UAD DSP/Apollo plug-ins. Some UAD plug-ins have both native and DSP versions available, while others are only available in either native or DSP format. If a plug-in has both a native and DSP version available, your purchase will include both versions. The main difference between native and DSP plug-ins is that using DSP plug-ins requires a UA device with onboard DSP processing, like an Apollo or UAD-2 Accelerator, while native plug-ins use your computer's CPU for processing and do not require any dedicated hardware to use.
While viewing a product in the UAD Store, you can look for an “Apollo” or “Native” badge to distinguish which plug-ins are available natively, which require a DSP-enabled UA device, and which support both.
For a full breakdown on the differences between UAD native and UAD DSP plug-ins, see this article.

I just purchased a plug-in from the UAD Store. How do I access it?
UAD DSP plug-ins come bundled as a complete collection with the UAD software, which can be installed from the "Apollo & UAD-2" tab of UA Connect. This means when you purchase a new UAD DSP plug-in license, you don’t download that individual plug-in, because it’s already been installed with the UAD software. Instead, you just need to authorize your newly purchased plug-in using UAD Meter & Control Panel, which is also conveniently bundled with the UAD software. For instructions on how to authorize UAD DSP plug-ins, see this article.
UAD native plug-ins are installed and activated individually on the "UAD Plug-Ins" tab of UA Connect. For more information on accessing UAD native plug-ins, see this article.
What payment methods are accepted in the UAD Store?
The UAD Store accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover credit cards. We also have express checkout options like Shop Pay, PayPal, and Venmo available.
Universal Audio does not support bank wire transfers.
What currencies are used in the UAD Store?
All prices in the UAD Store are listed in US dollars (USD). Whenever the $ symbol is shown, it represents US dollars.
Is there “upgrade pricing” available for any products?
For some products, like bundles or plug-ins that have been significantly upgraded, you may see an upgrade price available if you own another product that qualifies you for the upgrade price. When special upgrade pricing is available to you, the product will have an “Upgrade Available” badge.
To claim the upgrade pricing for a product, click the “Upgrade” option button and then the “Add to Cart” button on the product page. The upgrade price will be displayed at checkout.

My card is declining at check-out! What should I do?
There are a lot of reasons this may happen, and unfortunately, many of them are beyond our control. Nevertheless, there are some common causes for cards getting declined at checkout, like blocks or holds on available funds, exceeding credit or daily limits, using an expired card, entering card information like billing addresses or expiration dates incorrectly, or financial transactions being blocked between regions. We’ve even seen ad-blockers cause declines at check-out.
If your card is getting declined, there are a handful of things you can try:
- Try using PayPal
- Try using Venmo
- Check the expiration date of your credit card
- Check your account for credit limits, charges, or holds
- Ensure your billing address is correct and matches exactly what appears on your bank account statements
- Try a different browser
- Turn off ad-blocking software
- Try again in 3-5 days
If all else fails, it’s recommended that you contact your card issuer. Customer Care cannot manually intervene to unblock a transaction in the UAD Store.
