FAQ: Apollo Monitor Correction with SoundID by Sonarworks®

With UAD Console version 1.2.1 and UAD Software v11.5.1, Apollo Monitor Correction by Sonarworks® is now available and compatible with Apollo X Gen 1 and Gen 2 audio interfaces. This article addresses frequently asked questions about this topic.

Which Apollo interfaces have this feature?

All Apollo X models listed below benefit from the Apollo Monitor Correction feature. This includes the following devices:

Note: Apollo Monitor Correction is not available with Apollo Solo or Arrow interfaces.

Which calibration target modes are supported?

The following calibration target modes are supported:

  • Flat Target Mode (default)
  • Dolby Atmos Target Curve Mode
  • Translation Check Mode: Emulate other speakers for quick mix translation checks
  • Custom Target Mode: Tune your own room and re-apply to Apollo in an instant

Are there any requirements in order to use this feature?

The requirements for the Apollo Monitor Correction feature include:

  • At least one Apollo X interface (Gen 1 or Gen 2) configured as the monitor unit
  • UAD Software v11.5.1 or newer
  • UAD Console v1.2.1 or newer
  • Apollo Monitor Correction Add-on product license
  • SoundID Reference product license(s)
    • SoundID Reference for Headphones: apply headphone profiles
    • SoundID Reference for Speakers and Headphones: apply headphone and speaker profiles (stereo) with calibrated bass management for stereo/subwoofer setups.
    • SoundID Reference for Multichannel: apply headphone and speaker profiles (stereo/multichannel)
      Note: A measurement microphone is needed for speaker calibration.
  • An internet connection to authenticate your SoundID Reference license 
  • Supported operating systems: 
    • macOS 11 Big sur and above
    • Windows 10 and 11

Note: If you’ve purchased an Apollo Gen 2 interface between October 8 and December 31, 2024, an Apollo Monitor Correction Add-on license will be provided for free.

Which monitor modes are supported with Apollo Monitor Correction?

All monitor modes are supported, except for LCRS.

Can I apply calibration profiles to my headphones?

It is possible to apply calibration profiles to the headphones output(s) on your Apollo monitor unit.

Note: On Apollo x4 (Gen 1 and Gen 2), calibration profiles can only be applied to the HP1 output.

Can I use Virtual Monitoring?

Virtual Monitoring is not compatible with SoundID Reference hardware integrations, such as Apollo X.

Is the Digital Mirror in UAD Console affected by Room Correction or Bass Management?

Digital Mirror is not affected by any Bass Management or Apollo Monitor Correction settings.

Which monitor modes can utilize Room Correction, and with which Apollo models?
