UAD Console currently supports Volt 876 and Apollo interfaces.
If UAD Console is not connected to a compatible UA interface, the following splash screen may show:
This splash screen occurs when:
- Volt 876 is not connected or not detected
- UAD DSP Plug-Ins & Drivers is not installed (Apollo interfaces only)
- UAD DSP Plug-Ins & Drivers is installed, but missing Apollo software components (such as UA Mixer Engine)
If you run into this issue when using Apollo, follow the steps below to troubleshoot.

Important Notes for Apollo:
- (Windows) Apollo must be powered on and connected to computer when installing UAD DSP Plug-Ins & Drivers.
- If Apollo is not detected during the Windows installation process, components such as UA Mixer Engine may get excluded. This can result in UAD Console displaying "Connect your Volt interface".
- UAD DSP Plug-Ins & Drivers for Windows will exclude the components that support Apollo (such as UA Mixer Engine) for installations where Apollo devices are not used and only DSP Accelerator products are involved.
- (Mac) The Apollo Interface Software checkbox must be selected during the installation process.
- UA Mixer Engine is a component of UAD DSP Plug-Ins & Drivers that supports UAD Console and Apollo interfaces.
Important Notes for Volt:

UAD Console currently only supports Apollo and Volt 876 interfaces.
- Make sure Volt 876 is connected to the computer using the USB-C port.
- Volt desktop models are not expected to appear in UAD Console.
- Volt interfaces do not require the UAD DSP Plug-Ins & Drivers software package.
- Make sure Volt's firmware is fully up to date using the UA Connect app.
- In Windows, make sure the Volt Driver is installed using the UA Connect app.
For older versions of UAD Console, the following error messages will appear instead of the "Connect your Volt interface" splash screen.

Check System Requirements
Ensure your computer meets the System Requirements of your Apollo device.
If these requirements are not met, this issue can occur because Apollo was not detected during the installation process of UAD DSP Plug-Ins & Drivers.
Connect Apollo and Install UAD Software
Make sure Apollo is connected to computer and powered ON before starting the UAD DSP Plug-Ins & Drivers installation process.
Check the computer for active System Cleaner tools. Applications of this type can often interfere with the installation of UA software. Disable or uninstall them as necessary before installing UAD DSP Plug-Ins & Drivers.
Notes on System Cleaner Tools and UA Software
Next, download and install UAD DSP Plug-Ins & Drivers. This can be found in the UA Connect app.
You can verify if UAD DSP Plug-Ins & Drivers are installed properly by launching the UAD Meter & Control Panel application. If there is a status message there, proceed to this troubleshooting guide.
Troubleshooting "Connect your Volt interface" in Windows (when using Apollo)
The steps here also apply to Unable to launch UA Mixer Engine error messages.
First, verify the Apollo is detected and online under UAD Meter and Control Panel > System Info > Hardware.
Open File Explorer in Windows and navigate to: C:\Program Files (x86)\Universal Audio\Powered Plugins
If UAMixerEngine is missing in this folder, try launching UATrayIcon with Apollo powered ON and connected to the PC.
If this does not resolve the issue:
- Run the following tools to repair any errors or corruptions with the system:

- Perform the (Windows) UAD Uninstall / Reinstall Procedure.
- IMPORTANT: After uninstalling, be sure to Delete UAD Preference Files and check for any remaining UAD Device Drivers.
- Run the Microsoft Install + Uninstall Utility.
- Note: Download the Windows 10 version of the installer, even if we are on Windows 11.
- Use the Uninstall option of the troubleshooter to remove any leftover instances of UAD software.
- If there are multiple UAD entries on the list, this tool will need to be ran multiple times until they are all cleared.
- Reboot computer before re-installing UAD DSP Plug-Ins & Drivers in UA Connect.
Troubleshooting "Connect your Volt interface" in macOS (when using Apollo)
The steps here also apply to Unable to launch UA Mixer Engine error messages.
First, verify the Apollo is detected and online under UAD Meter and Control Panel > System Info > Hardware.
Perform the full UAD Uninstall / Reinstall Procedure (macOS) procedure. During the install process, make sure the option for Apollo Interface Software is checked.

Navigate to this pathname in macOS: /Library/Application Support/Universal Audio/Apollo
Manually launch UA Mixer Engine.
Go to macOS System Settings > General > Login Items & Extensions and make sure the following entries from UA are allowed to run in background.
