Troubleshooting Apollo, Satellite and UAD-2 PCIe Hardware with the UAD Meter and Control Panel

The first step in assessing if your computer is working with your Apollo, Satellite or PCIe UAD-2 hardware, is to check the UAD Meter and Control Panel application for any status messages.

If the UAD Software is functioning normally, the UAD Meter and Control Panel will display a DSP meter.

If the UAD software has detected an issue, it will provide you a status message here.

To address each potential status message, please refer to the following:

Connect UA Device

  1. Make sure your computer meets the system requirements for the hardware.
  2. Check the Apollo & Satellite Data Cable Guide
  3. Verify you have completed the required steps for Apple Silicon Computers
  4. If you have a Windows computer and a Thunderbolt device, make sure the computer supports Thunderbolt. Refer to this guide for more information.

Click Allow In Privacy and Security

When you install the UAD Software on an Apple Mac computer, you will need to allow the driver for it to function.

Additional Troubleshooting

  1. If you cannot launch the UAD Meter & Control Panel Application, first disconnect any UA hardware and see if you can then launch the application.  If you are able to run the application, this rules out a hardware issue.
  2. Make sure that you have not used any system cleaner tools, as they can cause this issue.  Please refer to this article.
  3. A good troubleshooting recommendation would be to clean up your UAD Software installation, which you can do by following these guides, do make sure you carefully remove all files as shown:
